1983 Metal Magic:
PANTERA's first studio album Metal Magic, released in June of 1983. From the KISS like into, it was clear that the album was inspired by the Metal/Hard Rock greats of the time but they also added their own twist to it. Despite being rough around the edges it still contained some kick ass songs including: I'll Be Alright, Latest Lover and Widowmaker, one of the best riffs on the album. Diamond is the star of the show and shows how good of a guitar player he was at just 16 and was only playing guitar for around 4 years at that point. The solos on I'll Be Alright, Latest Lover and Nothin' On (But the Radio) totally rip. Although Vinnie's drumming on the song Metal Magic shows he could pack a punch. It got a pretty good reception from critics but one thing critics panned it for was the album cover, which has certainly not aged well and was not appreciated even back then. The album was recorder at the famous Pantego Sound Studios, owned by Jerry Abbott who also managed the band and helped to put this album together. This album was available on LP and Cassette Tape.

1984 Projects In The Jungle:
PANTERA's second studio album Projects In The Jungle, released in May/early Summer of 1984 and arguably their best album featuring Terry Glaze. Terry's vocals are much improved from the last album and he's not afraid to use falsetto vocals and the way Terry holds that note on Out for Blood while increasing pitch is impressive. It topped Metal Magic in every way possible, including it's cover. Production was much improved, from the Drop D intro of All Over Tonite to the soothing Bass of Takin' My Life, it was evident the band really improved since the first record but influences from bands like Def Leppard and Mötley Crüe, Like Fire riff for instance are evident. Diamond rips on this album, equaling EVH in the guitar skills department and overall this album is full of classic headbanging PANTERA riffs of the time. It's got a great balance of fast and slow songs that are more thought out that the first album, their skill were improving fast. At the time the album got a lot positive reviews and reviewers predicted the band would hit the big times in the near future, with a major label picking the band up for sure. PANTERA recorded a video to ''All Over Tonite'' which was released on VHS in 1984 along with, ''Nothin' On but The Radio" and some live footage. This album was available on LP and Cassette Tape.
After Projects In The Jungle sold so well the band would have been able to invest in more merchandise and tours, as there was a lot of merchandise available in 1984. After all, all the money went back into the band.

1985 I Am The Night:
PANTERA's third and last studio album to feature Terry Glaze. I Am The Night was released in October 1985. Despite having a lot of 'interest' from major labels previously, I Am The Night was released on Metal Magic Records like the previous two records but had mostly gone unnoticed due to limited promotion vs some of the bigger bands. This album features Terry's heaviest vocals and the album had a much more darker/heavier tone to it. But it's clear Terry didn't quite have that rasp or power when going outside the comfort zone of the last albums' vocals. Diamond's evolving groove rhythm style and hooks can be heard on songs like: I Am The Night, Come-On Eyes, Down Below and Valhalla accompanied by some finger blistering solos and more slower melodic guitars like on Forever Tonight. And of course we are treated to a classic Diamond guitar solo but this time it's a dark and crushing slow triple arpeggio run. This would unfortunately be the last guitar solo as these wouldn't make a come back as the 80's drew to a close. Vinnie's drums are tighter than ever and include synthesized drum fills on occasion, something that didn't make come back on the next record. Overall the album is a nice step up from the last and show the band is evolving musically and slowly finding their own style. Diamond's amazing guitar work including some monster riffs really would go head to head with any Heavy Metal album from this time and would easy come out on top but there was just the lack of a major label to make it happen. This album was available on LP and Cassette Tape only.
